International Day of women and girls in science

On February 11, 2025 IT & Business College students took part in an event dedicated to the International Day of women and girls in science, which was held at the Innovation Center in Bishkek. Science lecturers and students have become part of a program aimed at supporting and developing girls in the STEM field.
Women are still underrepresented in science and technology, and such initiatives are helping to make a difference. During the event, the students received valuable opportunities.:
- They listened to the stories of successful female leaders of the STEAM industry about their professional path.
- They participated in panel discussions about career opportunities, challenges and prospects in science and technology.
- Interactive workshops on Python programming, artificial intelligence and innovation were held.
- They attended the Demo Day of the Women’s Hackathon Cup, where young developers presented their projects.
An important conclusion of the event is that representation in STEM matters. When girls see examples of successful women in science and technology, it motivates them to realize their own ambitions. Special thanks to the speakers from Kyrgyzpatent, the Ministry of Education and Science, UNICEF, the British Embassy and Accelerate Prosperity for their valuable knowledge and support. The college will continue to participate in initiatives aimed at expanding opportunities for girls on STEAM and promoting science and technology.
