On December 2, 2022, the English week competition was held at the IT & Business College of the Ala-Too International University. This event is traditionally held annually in order to test academic skills and involve students in independent creative activity, increasing their interest in learning English. And also to identify students with creative abilities who are striving for an in-depth study of the English language. This event provides an opportunity to increase the motivation of students to learn a foreign language.

The event began with a welcoming speech by Nurzat Usupova, a lecturer of IT & Business College of AIU and wished all participants good luck in this competition.

The program included the performance of songs, games, sonnets, dances and a choir, where students actively participated, showing their creative skills. So, the sonnets were performed by the following students:

1. Upper-2 – Aikerim Akieva, Muslim Abdukadirov

2. Upper-1 – Faiza Bamatraf, Seide Aibekovna, Aruuke Atabekova

3. Upper-4 – Islam Azhibekov, Akylai Kozhoeva, Kanykey Taalaybekova, Aidai Zhyldyzbekova

4. Upper-3 – Nurzhigit Nyshanaliev, Aruuke Myrzayeva, Kanykey Artykbaeva.

The following students performed popular songs:

1.  Upper-1 Zyinat Kubatbekova - “One’s upon a December”

2.  Upper - 2 Tilek - “Golden hour”

3. Upper - 4 Аdelina, Aidai, Аizhanat - “A thousand years”

4. Upper - 3 Аzem Zhakypova - “Snowman”

Then the following groups became the winners of the dance: 

1. Upper- 2

2. Upper -1 

3. Upper- 3

4. Upper -4

The event ended with the performance of the choir of the well-known New Year's song “Last Christmas” and the winners were the groups:

I place: Upper intermediate-4 

II place: Above average level-1

III place: Upper intermediate-3

III place: Upper intermediate-2
